Arkansas State University-Mountain Home is located in Mountain Home, Arkansas. It enrolls over 1,300 students in the associate degree programs and offers on-campus programs for ASU bachelor's, master's and specialist degree programs.

Among other tracks, the college prepares nurses who may then go on to serve at the massive health complex and supporting facilities that surround the Baxter Regional Medical Center located in Mountain Home.

Mountain Home's Big Creek Golf & Country Club was rated by Golf Digest as a five-star course in 2004, 2006, and 2008.

Golf Digest's "Places to Play" has said of Big Creek: "Golf at its absolute best. Pay any price at least once in your life." It was rated No. 1 in the United States in top courses averaging 20,000 rounds per year or fewer and named the top U.S. course opened within the past five years in 2004 edition of "Places to Play."

Baxter Regional Medical Center

The Twin Lakes area of North Central Arkansas features two large, clean lakes, great for sailing, fishing, skiing, scuba diving, swimming and just about any other water sport you can think of.
